If we use the number of patents filed as a proxy for innovation USA continues in the forefront of the world. However a very important trend comes from China, who is consolidating its position into the leading group of countries filling patents. This will eventually change the world dynamics in the manufacturing world.

Latin America still a laggard in innovation. When comparing just the order of magnitude of the number of patents, it is confirmed the long road that must be covered to become a competitive players in today’s world economy.
